- All-boys grammar Wilmington has just over 1,000 pupils on roll and accepts girls into its sixth form. The six school houses are named after notable figures — Brunel, Turing, Johnson, Attenborough, Mandela and Keller.
- Extracurricular activities include anime society, handball and model railway club.
- The sixth form is provided jointly with Wilmington Grammar School for Girls and a further “smaller, more bespoke study programme” can be obtained at nearby Stone Lodge School. At the shared grammar sixth form a range of A-levels are offered in addition to the Extended Project Qualification, with a year 12 programme that includes mindfulness, volunteering and sporting opportunities.
- Former pupils include the actor Mackenzie Crook.
