- The school says that its students should strive to be intellectually curious; have personal integrity; be collaborative and supportive; be open to opportunity; be globally aware; be effective communicators; and be lifelong learners.
- Pupils are assigned to one of four houses — Osprey, Merlin, Harrier or Kestrel — that they stay with throughout their school career and that compete for points in competitions, academic achievements and living up to key aims.
- Extracurricular activities include the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, sports and music, and clubs ranging from chess and wargaming to crochet and Pokémon.
