- The school was founded in 1888 as the Church High School of Carshalton, Beddington, Wallington and Sutton, and its motto is “Heirs of the past, makers of the future”.
- Its core values are curiosity, courage and compassion, alongside fellowship, respect, self-belief, conscientiousness, resilience and integrity.
- The school houses are Athena, Brontë, Curie, Johnson, Pankhurst, Seacole and Sharman.
- Co-curricular activities include the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, as well as music, art, drama, dance and sports activities.
- Five enrichment dates each year take students away from the timetable to visit outdoor centres, art galleries, museums and theatres or participate in activities on site, such as escape rooms and project catwalks.
- Notable former pupils include the Olympic rower and cyclist Rebecca Romero and comedian Lucy Porter.
