- Co-curricular activities are considered key areas for personal development with more than 80 weekly clubs and societies. Recent additions include the creative writers’ café, manga club and charity discussion group. Pupils participate and compete in various sports, and have achieved national and regional success in table tennis, cricket and tennis.
- The musical talent pool contains a BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist and a National Youth Orchestra member. The dramatic output is similarly impressive. Pupils traditionally take a show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
- Charitable fundraising, typically raising more than £50,000 annually, takes place across the year with key collections for community organisations. A six-week community action fundraising window takes place in November and December.
- Pupils benefit from volunteering opportunities with partnership schools and other local organisations, or as peer mentors within the school’s wellbeing provision.
- Means-tested bursaries aim to ensure that financial constraints should be no limit to access.
