About the school

  • Established in 1850, Tudor Hall is one of the oldest girls’ boarding and day schools in the UK.
  • Students are offered a well-rounded education that equips them with the skills, potential, and interests that extend beyond the academic curriculum.
  • The school motto, “I have that I may give”, is central to its ethos and is reflected in many aspects of school life. Tudor Hall’s outreach and enrichment programme works with about 20 state schools each year, providing approximately 550 hours of staff time in teaching, activities and events to hundreds of pupils.
  • Launched in 2021, Tudor Hall’s Campaign 2025 aims to establish a bursary fund to support seven new fully funded places for local girls by 2025 — the school’s 175th anniversary year.
  • Carrdus School, the preparatory school owned by Tudor Hall, is at risk of closing at the end of the Spring 2025 term unless a buyer can be found. The school has cited the recent changes to VAT exemption rules as a contributing factor to its financial challenges.
