About the school

  • Often referred to as a “big, small school”, the Leys, in Cambridge, is big enough to offer opportunities that are the envy of many, but small enough that every pupil is personally known and nurtured.
  • The school runs more than 100 extracurricular activities a week, ranging from debating and drama to table tennis and sailing.
  • Sports for all ages and abilities, including rugby, cricket, hockey and basketball, play a huge part in school life.
  • Boarders and day pupils belong to one of 11 houses, which becomes their second home and offers round-the-clock support.
  • Scholarships, offering a 5 per cent fee remission, are available for entry at Year 7, 9 and sixth form. Bursaries offer fee reductions of up to to 100 per cent and are dependent on financial, compassionate and other circumstances.
