- The Langton hosts a History of Ideas course which was devised “with the goal of providing an important expansion to our curriculum”. Its aim is to broaden the cultural and intellectual horizons of its pupils, based on the study of the book A History of the World in 100 Objects by Neil MacGregor.
- Alongside standard GCSE options is ancient history and in addition to A-levels pupils can study on the Cambridge Pre-U philosophy and theology syllabus.
- The school’s Reading Passport has been devised for pupils in years 7 to 11 to read 16 titles in order to “subtly prepare students for higher demands of their English GCSE” and to encourage them to read books “in their formative years that reflect the rich diversity of the society we live in.”
- A key part of the school’s Computer Science department is Vex Robotics; an international, educational program designed specifically for secondary education school ages, inspiring them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and problem-solve creatively through the world of robotics.
