“The school seeks to enable pupils to establish good relationships with others, make the most of their talents ... [and] command a range of life skills. Pupils achieve highly in both academic and extracurricular areas. They are purposeful, participating eagerly in debate, discussions, and the intellectual life of the school. Pupils show great pride in their school, support one another’s learning and are eager to celebrate each other’s achievements. They are highly self-assured members of the school community. Pupils collaborate extremely well with each other and their teachers to achieve common goals. They exhibit a high level of mutual respect and tolerance enabling strong relationships to flourish. Pupils are keen to contribute their perceptive views and insights to the programmes of the school.” There was a regulatory compliance visit in 2021.

About the school

  • There are more than 100 clubs and activities on offer. Pupils can learn Mandarin, play chess and practise climbing techniques.
  • King’s Worcester’s sporting facilities include the award-winning Michael Baker Boat House. Students receive high-level coaching in rowing, rugby, cricket, netball, hockey and football, and have had success in national competitions.
  • Musical students find an outlet in choirs, orchestras, ensembles and through the school’s connection with Worcester Cathedral. There are also opportunities in dance and drama.
  • Pupils are given “a voice, place, and purpose” through leadership opportunities, competitions, peer mentoring, debating and a weekly wellbeing focus.
  • The school offers academic and music scholarships to new entrants who show a high level of academic or musical attainment, intellectual curiosity or musical flair. There are further awards for sporting excellence. Means-tested bursaries are also offered for academically able children who would otherwise not be able to attend.
