- This coeducational comprehensive, eight miles from Newbury, Berkshire, has about 1,400 students aged 11-18 with a pupil-teacher ratio of 18:1.
- Catchment areas do not apply in the sixth form and 25 per cent of the intake usually joins from other schools, including private ones. Sixth-formers have no uniform but are expected to stick to a “professional” dress code.
- Volunteering and fundraising is encouraged. There are three whole-school charities and each of the seven houses pick a cause to support each year.
- The school has a long list of lunchtime and after-school clubs and 150 students were working towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards in 2024.
