The standards achieved by pupils at The Cathedral School are extremely high. About the school

  • This co-ed day school is Welsh Independent School of the Year 2024. Pupils aged 3-18 enjoy a high level of academic teaching, excellent facilities and a diverse co-curricular offering underpinned by a Christian ethos.
  • The 18 girls and 18 boys — usually aged seven to ten – who are chosen as choristers at Llandaff Cathedral receive free tuition at the Cathedral School.
  • A former choral scholar, Clare Sherwood, is the school’s first female head. The Cambridge history graduate, sports captain and public speaker embodies the Cathedral School’s ethos of encouraging pupils to try a breadth of interests and experiences, along with being kind, intellectually curious and competitive.
