About the school

  • The school opened in 1984 as the founding school of Star Academies, a multi-academy trust that runs a diverse network of primary and secondary schools.
  • It aims to promote a culture of educational excellence from a caring, secure Islamic environment, with non-Muslim students welcomed.
  • The hijab is part of the uniform for those Muslim girls who choose to wear it.
  • At the heart of the curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4 is the English Baccalaureate: 7 is the average grade achieved across all subjects.
  • For more than six years Btec health and social care students from the sixth form have been pledging their commitment to raising awareness about dementia.
