- Sydenham School’s roots can be traced to 1862, but it moved to its present site on Dartmouth Road in 1917.

- Former pupils include the actress Mia Goth (Frankenstein, Pearl), the Bafta-winning costume designer Sandy Powell (The Young Victoria, Cruella) and the 400m hurdler Tasha Danvers, who took bronze at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
