- Founded in 1899, Sutton Grammar School (SGS) is all-boys in years 7 to 11 and coeducational in the sixth form. It has had academy status since 2011.
- Excellence, integrity, kindness and community are the school’s guiding values.
- Pupils are assigned to one of five houses — Manor, Warwick, Greyhound, Lenham and Throwley — which compete each year to win the House Shield, with points awarded for academic, sporting, artistic and school community achievements.
- There are more than 20 extracurricular and co-curricular activities, from music and drama to board games, animation and fantasy football.
- SGS has extensive sports facilities in nearby Cheam, with football, rugby and cricket pitches, a pavilion and an athletics track.
- In 2025, out of the 180 students who sat the exams 175 applied for universities, with a large majority of them taking up places at their first choice.
- Old Suttonians include the musician Jeff Beck and environmentalist David Bellamy.
