- Founded in 1988, St John’s is set in 28 acres of greenbelt countryside on the edge of Enfield. It places equal emphasis on academic ambition, music, the arts, theatre, sport, and social and moral awareness.
- Sixth-form classes typically consist of two to six pupils, with most progressing to Russell Group universities such as University College London, Imperial College London, Oxford and Cambridge. In 2021, as the school says, it “became our mission to put our A-levels on the map. We wanted them to be something very special.” In 2025, more than 65 per cent of grades achieved were A*-A.
- Ethan Nwaneri, who attended the school on a scholarship until the age of 16, became the youngest Premier League player in history when he made his debut with Arsenal in 2022 aged 15.
