- The excellent behaviour of pupils at St Gregory's Catholic Science College means it has been identified by the Department for Education as a Behaviour Hub, tasked with supporting partner schools to improve their standards.
- Although the Catholic faith is at the centre of school life, students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. These are celebrated with cuisine, dance and music at the annual International Evening, while the yearly Prize Night recognises students’ hard work, talents and achievements.
- Extracurricular options range from sports such as basketball, netball and football to debating and the annual school musical.
- Pupils are encouraged to make a positive impact on the school and the community through organisations such as the student parliament or the eco committee, and by becoming travel ambassadors. The latter are tasked with increasing levels of walking and cycling to school, as well as reducing congestion and improving road safety.
- Students fundraise for their house charity, while many volunteer in the sixth form.
