- St Francis’ College began as a Catholic foundation and has been educating girls in Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire for more than 85 years. Today it is multidenominational and has a mixed nursery and pre-prep. A small proportion of pupils board from year 6.
- The college motto is Cor unum, anima una (“One heart, one soul”). The school aims to blend “traditional values and a modern vision” based on a philosophy of “dare, dream, achieve”. James Nicholls, the head teacher, describes it as a “vibrant, warm, and friendly community where relationships (and dreams) really matter. We are extremely proud of the meaningful relationships that exist between students, their teachers and our parent body”.
- In 2024, all students who applied went on to study at their chosen university.
- Former pupils include the BBC journalist Jennie Bond.
