- Founded in 1914, Catholic girls’ school St Catherine’s takes pupils of all religious denominations. Its motto is “Not words, but deeds”. It fosters “curiosity, creativity and resilience” with a pastoral care programme that “helps each girl to discover her own gifts and talents.”
- The school’s philosophy is to inspire a love of learning and the small class sizes help facilitate this.
- Co-curricular activities are available from first thing in the morning with yoga to choir at lunchtime and sport after school.
- All-rounder “Siena” scholarships are offered for pupils in years 10 to 13 to acknowledge the school’s namesake, St Catherine of Siena, with a range of scholarships available for year 7 entry. Means-tested bursaries are also available to senior pupils.
- Former students include the broadcaster Annie Nightingale and the actress Patsy Kensit.
