“Pupils are proud to be members of St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School. They respond enthusiastically to the school’s drive for excellence and high expectations. Pupils enjoy learning. They are well motivated and work hard. This is reflected in the school’s very high academic outcomes for all pupils. This is a kind and inclusive community where everyone matters. *Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A five-point grading scale, including a new “exceptional” grade was introduced in November 2025.

About the school

St Bernard’s in Slough Berkshire, is one of the only coeducational Catholic grammars in England. Celebrations in 2025 marked the 150th anniversary of the school chapel.
French, Spanish, Latin and Japanese are on the curriculum.
The head teacher, Paul Kassapian, says: “The care and guidance offered by our outstanding staff provides an ethos that will allow your child to become the special person God intended them to be.”
Sixth-formers can boost their chances of gaining places on competitive university courses by joining the school’s medical, law or engineering societies.
