- This Catholic academy on the outskirts of Bristol welcomes children of all faiths and backgrounds, although priority is given to Catholic children living in designated parishes.
- Its core values — “Work hard. Be kind. Do the right thing” — are known as the St Bede’s Way and include high expectations for behaviour.
- A specialist science college, St Bede’s encourages pupils to sit three sciences at GCSE. Stem subjects are popular at A-level and these students can also complete a Gold Crest award.
- Pupils are encouraged to make eco-friendly choices. There is a litter-picking rota, regular recycling drives, a Switch-Off Fortnight to reduce electricity use and raised beds where pupils can help to grow vegetables.
- School clubs include coding, chess, a year 7 board games club and various bands. Many children participate in school productions and attend sports clubs.
