- Boys and girls aged 3-18 are valued as individuals at St Bede’s, a Catholic school which will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026. The college was founded in 1876 and moved to its modern site in 1877, repurposing the former Manchester Aquarium for its hall. Today, both Catholics and non-Catholics are equally welcome.
- The Bedian Research Programme aims to “help our students grow”. This is a “journey from prep through to sixth form, embedding skills and providing experience to enable pupil to become interdependent learners”. The school describes participation in the programme as a “privilege”.
- The England footballers Phil Foden and Cole Palmer are among the graduates of an education and training programme run in partnership with Manchester City Football Club since 2011.
- Other notable alumni include the actor Colin Baker, the sixth Doctor in Doctor Who, the historian Sir Ian Kershaw and the author and journalist Toby Harnden.
