- Saint Ambrose College in Greater Manchester is a selective Catholic state-funded independent grammar school and sixth-form for boys, with priority given to Catholic children.
- There is a huge range of clubs and societies – from basketball and brass band, to chess, chaplaincy, school of rock and Gaelic football. All students join at least two of these, one of which must be a physical or sporting activity.
- Sport plays a major part in all areas of school life with boys playing interschool matches, and county and national competitions. The main team sports are rugby, athletics, cricket, water polo and football.
