- This high-performing girls’ grammar teaches Latin, classical Greek and computer coding to year 7. In the coeducational sixth form, students in year 12 take four A-levels, choosing from 25 subjects.
- The school, established in 1913, became an academy in 2011. Just before the October half-term, tradition demands that pupils celebrate the school’s birthday by making cards in a house competition and presenting gifts to benefit future students (they often choose clocks).
- Pupils are never short of a challenge, through school shows or nationally competitive sports teams, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and World Challenge expeditions.
- Reggie and Florence, the school’s therapy dogs, help to keep things calm and there is a peer-to-peer lunchtime emotional support group once a week.
