- Sherborne Girls says it doesn’t believe in hothousing but it does believe in “helping every girl to find her niche”. Founded in 1898, Sherborne Girls encourages its pupils aged 11-18 – more than 80 per cent of whom board – to try new things.
- The school has fine facilities for music, drama and sport, including a swimming pool, fitness suite, a climbing wall and dance studio. The adventure and outdoor education programme runs volunteering and charitable projects and sixth-formers can sign up for Leith’s Introduction to Confident Cooking.
- Many girls go on to study at leading universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Bristol and Exeter. In 2025, nearly 40 per cent of all A-level grades achieved A*-A.
- Notable alumnae include the authors Sophie Kinsella and Santa Montefiore, and Princess Sumaya bint Hassan of Jordan, an advocate for science and development.
