- Founded more than 100 years ago in Chertsey, Surrey, the school’s mission is to educate “the whole person”, according to the philosophy of the Catholic educator Don Bosco.
- There are about 1,800 pupils aged 11-18, with about 400 enrolled in the sixth-form college, which has its own specialised site.
- Everyone is expected to participate in at least one co-curricular activity and there is a long and varied list from which to choose, including film production, engineering club, music technology, sewing and textiles. Table tennis and trampolining may appeal to sporty pupils, as well as Gaelic football and badminton.
- The careers team has seven staff who aim to ensure that “students can successfully transition to their lives after school”.
- The Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding and the actor Martin Freeman are former Salesian students.
