“This is a large and vibrant school that sits at the heart of its local community. Leaders prioritise pupils’ academic achievement and pupils achieve well. Leaders show a strong commitment to pupils beyond just academic success. There is a wealth of opportunities in which pupils can take part outside the classroom. One pupil said that school, ‘helps us to find our talents and interests’. The range of sports and performing arts clubs is impressive … Pupils are happy, courteous and articulate … Many parents praised the school for its ‘fantastic’ response to Covid-19 restrictions.”

About the school

  • The school is proud to be at the heart of its community and students thrive with support from local partners and a network of alumni and friends. Each year they have the chance to take part in community projects from ecology work with a nature reserve to creating artworks and writing book reviews for Richmond Walking and Book Festival.
  • There are more than 25 activities available per year group, from competitive sports clubs to creative arts, dance companies, musical ensembles, Stem groups and clubs for interests such as history and Warhammer. 
  • Level 3 vocational qualifications including Cambridge Technicals, as well as Level 1/2 Cambridge Nationals in subjects such as sport science, creative iMedia and health and social care and a Level 1/2 Vocational Award in engineering are on offer.
