- Rainham Mark is so far the only coeducational selective state secondary out of Medway’s six grammar schools. Three others will end single-sex education in 2026.
- It has academy status and underpins its broad curriculum with “Proud” principles — philosophy, reading, oracy, understanding the wider world and debate. About 25 subjects are available in the sixth form, alongside comprehensive careers education.
- The enrichment programme aims to prepare students for life in the 21st century. Each year the school holds a charity week to raise thousands of pounds for good causes and there are opportunities to take part in the annual Medway Festival of Speech, Drama and Music each May.
- Alumni include the former Conservative MPs Craig Mackinlay and Rehman Chishti.
