About the school

  • Queen’s College, the first school in the UK to award academic qualifications to women, celebrated its 175th birthday in 2023. Its alumnae include the cofounder of the National Trust, Octavia Hill; the editor of American Vogue, Dame Anna Wintour; and the broadcaster and Times Luxx columnist Emma Freud.
  • Girls can choose from more than 80 clubs a week, from horticulture to boxing, mindfulness to manga — and the pupil-founded LGBTQueen’s society ensures a welcoming environment for everyone, as does gender-neutral signage. The school regards itself as one of the most diverse in London.
  • The pastoral care programme, Thrive, incorporates mental health and wellbeing initiatives such as anti-bullying ambassadors and peer mentors. In addition, the school organises themed weeks and lessons on truth, kindness, resilience and life skills.
  • The Extended Project Qualification runs alongside A-levels, and Lamda qualifications are available.
  • Scholarships are awarded across a range of specialisms, while means-tested bursaries cover from 30 per cent to 100 per cent of fees.
