“Pupils thrive at this inclusive and nurturing school. Staff share a belief that pupils can achieve excellent outcomes, whatever their starting point. The school has the highest expectations of every pupil. Pupils succeed because they understand and live out these expectations. Clear routines and boundaries teach pupils to be responsible. As a result, pupils concentrate on their learning and take pride in their work. The positive culture that has been created in school is reinforced further by the variety of enrichment and extracurricular activities available. There is a sharp focus on high standards and improvement throughout.”

About the school

Prince William School in Oundle, Northamptonshire, is a mixed comprehensive school that is part of the East Midlands Academy Trust.
It offers a range of extracurricular clubs and activities, including rugby, netball and football, choirs, street dance and British Sign Language.
Wellbeing is a priority and, in addition to qualified staff, more than 50 students have been trained to provide mental health support to their peers. The school’s commitment to wellbeing earned it a LightBulb certificate of mental health excellence from St Andrews Healthcare, which has devised a mental wellness programme for schools.
There is a new student-led diversity, equality and inclusion board and, in November 2025, the school hosted its first inclusion and diversity conference, attended by around 150 students from nine schools. Pupils were invited to discuss issues including challenges facing young men in today’s society and how schools can address socio-economic barriers to learning.
