- The enormous breadth of the extracurricular programme is a strength of Parmiter’s in Watford, Hertfordshire. Many clubs are run by sixth-formers.
- The school was established as a boys’ grammar, in the east end of London, from the will of the silk merchant Thomas Parmiter in 1681. Today’s non-selective coeducational school has six houses, which are the focus of competition in poetry, art and sports.
- Language exchanges with schools in France, Spain and Germany create some of the opportunities to travel. Senior students have also taken expeditions to Bolivia, Mongolia and Tanzania.
- A charitable trust offers financial support to any families in financial hardship to help with costs for school transport, music lessons, the school’s one-to-one device scheme and educational trips.
