“Pupils are proud of Parkstone Grammar School. A very high standard of behaviour provides excellent conditions for learning. Pupils are happy and content. They enjoy their learning and are challenged by it, and appreciate the considerable support that staff provide to ensure that they prepare well for examinations. The voice of pupils and students is strong in the school. The school caters for a diverse range of special interests. This helps pupils to feel welcome and included. Pupils are taught how to learn independently. They receive valuable feedback which they use to develop their thinking.”

*Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A five-point grading scale, including a new “exceptional” grade was introduced in November 2025.

About the school

This heavily oversubscribed girls’ school in Poole specialises in languages and science.
The sixth form has 350 students and some classes are shared with Poole Grammar School for Boys, opening up an extensive A-level curriculum.
Pupils are encouraged to “explore their passions, expand their knowledge, and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them well throughout their lives”. All pupils are encouraged to get involved in musical, theatrical, sporting and charitable activities.
Help is available with transport costs for extracurricular activities, if needed. Clubs are offered for football, cricket, table tennis and trampolining, along with coding, astronomy and zoology.
