- This coeducational grammar, opened in 1903, draws pupils from a wide geographical area, and from all religious and ethnic backgrounds.
- Veritas Vincet (“Truth prevails”) is the school’s motto. As well as core GCSE subjects, study options include agriculture, programming and the performing arts.
- The academy has had an outstanding run of success at equestrian events, and showjumping features on an extensive list of extracurricular clubs. Others cover interests from fencing and fishing, to a Scripture Union, brass band and rock band.
