What the school inspection says

“Pupils here develop an assured and positive sense of their own identity. They share a commitment to their school community, which they are proud to represent. This is strengthened by the leadership opportunities that give pupils a clear voice within the school. For example, sixth-form students enjoy a wide-ranging lecture programme. This enhances the confidence of those students who present and the knowledge of those in the audience. The school is aspirational for its pupils, and they achieve very highly in almost all subject areas. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported to achieve strongly too. Pupils understand the values that underpin the school’s ‘behaviour curriculum’.”

*Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A five-point grading scale, including a new “exceptional” grade was introduced in November 2025.
