- Northwood School has a good academic record, with a high proportion of pupils progressing to university and further study. In Year 12, every student completes the Northwood Diploma, which enables them to explore and develop wider interests and experiences beyond their A-level studies.
- Enrichment opportunities outside the classroom include sport, music and drama, as well as a variety of clubs such as debating, Portuguese and chess.
- There are school teams in athletics, badminton, cricket, cross country, netball, rounders, rugby, football and tennis, with pupils being named borough champions in a number of these.
- Northwood is proud of its student leadership. A special council, chaired by sixth formers, includes a range of groups, including the Green Team, which aims to improve the environmental impact of the school, student librarians, and a health and wellbeing team. Tech ambassadors help to enhance online safety, while the Stonewall School Champions play a crucial role in promoting diversity and inclusion “to make every person in our community feel safe, respected and heard”.
