- One of the 24 independent schools within the Girls’ Day School Trust, Northwood College for Girls was founded in 1870 with the ambition to educate girls in full and to capture their interests beyond the classroom. It is “unashamedly ambitious” for its pupils, supported by a rich academic curriculum.
- In partnership with the GDST it is aiming to become a “net zero” school by 2030. Girls are encouraged to work towards these goals, from responsibly recycling pens to reducing plastic in food environments.
- Scholarships are offered for music, art and design, drama and performing arts, and sport at year 7, with additional sixth-form scholarships given for academic excellence. A limited number of means-tested bursaries are awarded.
- Former pupils include the musical theatre actress Carrie Hope Fletcher and the senior circuit judge Frances Kirkham.
