- Founded in 1939 as a preparatory school in St John’s Wood, northwest London, NBHSC is now owned by the Cognita group and has five locations for the different age groups it serves. Its Canonbury campus educates over 200 boys and girls aged 11 to 18.
- In 2025, 67 per cent of all A-levels taken were awarded A*-B, with pupils heading for universities including Newcastle, Durham, Leeds, York and the University of Minnesota.
- The school has its own exhibition space where pupils show their work, and many GCSE candidates go on to exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts Young Artists’ Summer Show.
- Students are encouraged to keep up games and have access to a diverse programme of physical activities from tennis to martial arts and yoga.
- Sixth-form pupils serve as wellbeing ambassadors and lead mental health and peer support initiatives, all of which contribute to the school’s inclusive environment.
