- Founded as Maidenhead High School in 1905, the school moved to its present location in 1959 and was renamed in 1998.
- Courage, commitment and compassion — the “three Cs” — are “at the heart of our approach to school life”, says the head teacher Jo Capon, and drive pupils to “set no limits” on their success.
- Careers guidance and advice are given from year 7 and the Unifrog platform is used to “help broaden students’ horizons and explore future careers and courses”.
- More than 70 clubs run every week, from crochet to sports, French cinema, sign language and the Rainbow Alliance, an LGBTQ+ group. More than 350 students take part in annual productions and there is a range of musical ensembles. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme is offered for those aged 13 and over.
- Leadership opportunities are provided via sports teams, the school council and within the house system, in which events such as a spelling bee, house bake-off and sports day are run.
