What the school inspection says

“This is a school with a diverse and happy community. Pupils are polite and courteous and typically treat everyone with respect. [They] enjoy their learning and are safe… [and] are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Leaders have high academic expectations for all pupils. [They] study a broad range of subjects, for as long as possible. Lessons are taught by teachers with strong subject knowledge. [These] are calm and purposeful. Pupils are motivated to learn. Leaders have planned the curriculum so that pupils build knowledge and skills from year 7 to year 13 in a logical way. Teachers have good knowledge of the subjects they teach. Some pupils with Send follow a bespoke curriculum in year 7 and 8. They still study the full range of subjects but have additional time for learning English and life skills.”

*Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A five-point grading scale, including a new “exceptional” grade was introduced in November 2025.
