- Mayfield Grammar School was founded in 1914 and moved to its present site in 1926. Today it educates girls up to 16 and both girls and boys in the sixth form, with about 1,400 pupils on roll.
- The “Mayfield Challenge” is open to all year 7 pupils and gives them the opportunity to experience a range of adventure, service and challenge activities, from learning the Highway Code to enjoying cookery, getting involved with fundraising, camping and rambling.
- The Mandarin Excellence Programme allows all year 7 pupils to experience Mandarin and the chance, for some, to continue their studies in greater depth. The subject is also offered to year 12 and 13 students.
- School trips include those to the Old Bailey, the British Museum and to the Christmas markets in Aachen, as well as French exchanges, ski trips and PGL summer adventures.
