About the school

  • The Marlborough Mindset programme is an evidence-based approach designed to help pupils to become productive and independent lifelong learners. They gain knowledge about how the brain works, the importance of memory and metacognition, and the impact of sleep and exercise on their overall wellbeing.
  • The Marlborough Difference campaign aims to dramatically increase the number of full bursary places at Marlborough College so that 10 per cent of pupils will receive a free education.
  • On a typical weekend, about 50 sports teams compete: rugby, hockey, netball, cricket, tennis, football, lacrosse, swimming and athletics make up the bulk of the sports programme, alongside cross-country, riding, shooting, fencing, dance, Pilates, martial arts, water polo, girls’ touch rugby, triathlon, basketball, rackets, squash, fives, fishing and clay pigeon-shooting.
  • A programme of peer-to-peer pastoral support involves the appointment and training of wellbeing ambassadors from across all year groups.
  • Scholarships are awarded on merit. Bursaries (from 5 to 100 per cent of fees) are awarded after means testing and standard assessment.
