- Manchester High School is a day school for girls whose alumnae include the Pankhurst sisters and the broadcaster Emma Barnett. It aims to “support our pupils to develop an understanding of the value of education as an end in itself, instilling a lifelong love of learning”.
- Wellbeing is at the heart of school life, it says, having been a priority since its foundation in 1874.
- The school offers pupils a vast array of extracurricular activities, covering everything from performing arts to sports. If a club doesn’t already exist, pupils can apply to create their own.
- Both the Extended Project Qualification and the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) are offered in addition to standard qualifications, plus music and Lamda examinations.
- There are bursaries as well as scholarships for excellence in academia, sport, music and dance.
