“The school aims to nurture each pupil’s individual talents, to instil in them the values of learning, leadership, faith and service and to encourage them to perform in all areas to the best of their ability. Pupils display excellent attitudes to learning, demonstrating an intrinsic motivation and determination to do well. They make rapid progress over time, including those with special education needs and/or disabilities (Send). Pupils join the school with a wide range of abilities and their examination results demonstrate attainment above those of schools with a similar baseline. Throughout the school, pupils achieve excellent standards in a wide range of co-curricular activities and pursuits. About the school

  • LCS traces its lineage to the 14th century, when the cathedral offered education to its young male choristers.
  • Now, the Staffordshire day school is co-educational and welcomes around 450 students between the ages of 3-18.
  • LCS places a strong emphasis on “developing a sense of self, an understanding of each person’s superpower, of developing character”.
  • It has a 100 per cent pass rate for A-Levels, with an 89 per cent achievement in A*-C grades.
  • Sixth-form students can take part in overseas volunteer work via World Challenge and participation levels are high in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.
