- Demolished and rebuilt between 2010 and 2012, the school has modern facilities such as a 500-seat performance hall — ideal for the music, dance and drama productions for which the academy in Beckenham, south London, is renowned.
- Girls are accepted into the sixth form, from where 80 per cent of students gain university places, about one third at Russell Group institutions. A growing number also secure apprenticeships with a wide variety of employers.
- Equal value is placed on academic success, enrichment activities and outdoor education. Rugby, hockey, cricket and athletics teams have reached local and national finals. Teams have travelled to South America, South Africa, Malaysia, Australia and Barbados.
- All Year 8 students visit the school’s outdoor study centre, a converted chapel in the Peak District. In Year 9, pupils spend a week at a summer camp in Dover, Kent where they learn to sail, ride horses and cook on an open fire.
