- Success in maths, biology, chemistry and physics Olympiads and in Philosothons (competitions exploring philosophical and ethical issues) shows that a Kingswood education is about more than just a strong exam performance.
- The school, founded by John Wesley in 1748, offers more than 100 activities to its pupil body, from climbing to macramé, debating to Dungeons & Dragons. In year 12, students participate in a work experience week, exploring future careers in a diverse range of businesses that have included funeral directors, vets, dentists and pharmacies.
- The Kingswood for Life programme shares age-appropriate information through assemblies, tutor groups and house meetings. Each student has a tutor who supports their academic and pastoral needs.
- Means-tested bursaries are available. Pupils whose parents are in the British armed forces or work for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office are eligible for a boarding fee discount of 10 per cent in years 7 and 8, and 20 per cent from year 9 onward. A sibling boarding discount of 10 per cent is also available.
