- Kingham Hill School, founded in 1886 by the Oxfordshire philanthropist Charles Young, describes itself as “a Christian school for everyone”. Originally a boys’ school, it became coeducational in 1992 and in 2025 joined the Dean Close Foundation which incorporates six schools and nine nurseries.
- A wide selection of co-curricular activities is on the menu for pupils, from animal management to debating, Pilates to Warhammer, and much more. The school offers three “activity Saturdays” each term, which give pupils the chance to participate in a programme of half-day or full-day activities.
- Its “American Program” gives American children the opportunity to earn a US high school diploma while studying at an English independent school.
- Academic, art, drama, music and sport scholarships are offered to those joining in years 7 and 9, and there are subject-specific scholarships for those joining the sixth form. The Dean Close Foundation offers a limited number of means-tested bursaries every year for a maximum of 40 per cent of the fees.
- Alumni include the former Labour politician Andrew Adonis and the Pink Floyd bassist Guy Pratt.
