- Day and boarding Keswick School has origins dating back to the 14th century and today educates about 1,200 girls and boys aged 11 to 18.
- The school aims to “maintain the highest expectations for all our students and seek excellence in everything we do”.
- Keswick leads the Lakes Language Network with the aim to promote and improve the teaching of modern foreign languages across the Lake District, providing CPD and training opportunities for teaching staff, as well as careers advice and cultural events for pupils. Latin is offered as a subject taught weekly, following the Cambridge Latin course.
- It is one of the 32 state boarding schools in England and Wales and pupils can board on a full, weekly or flexi-boarding basis. Full boarding fees for the 2025-2026 academic year are £14,946.
- The Rosemary Aitken library opened in 1996 in honour of the school’s head girl of 1932, who served as a foundation governor later in life. It is open throughout the school day and is host to both the school’s Carnegie reading club and its writers and illustrators club.
