What the school inspection says

Date of report
2017
Verdict *
Good
“A key strength is the way that school improvement is seen as everyone’s responsibility. Achievement in English and mathematics is outstanding and all students, including disabled students and those with special educational needs, make at least good progress in their learning.”

*From September 2024, Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A consultation on the new report cards will take place in 2025.

About the school

  • Music, drama and art feature strongly in the groups on offer, which also include netball, school band, gardening, set design, Earth club, the Young Apprentice, knitting and crochet, and the Lego league. Many students are learning to play an instrument and perform in concerts hosted by the school. It also places great importance on giving all students access to Stem subject events.
  • They also support a wide variety of charities through money-raising events, which range from the annual school walk to cake stalls and “civvies days”. These events are usually planned and organised by the students themselves.
  • Students can access a range of more than 60 courses through the Sleaford Joint Sixth Form, including Level 3 vocational and academic qualifications.
