- Howell’s is a girls’ day school in Llandaff, Cardiff, with a coed sixth form, the alma mater of the BBC journalist Fiona Bruce and the singer Charlotte Church.
- Student kindness champions work to tackle bullying and promote friendship, and the wellbeing initiative HeadsUp@Howell’s engages students and staff in proactive self-care activities. Howell’s offers mental health education alongside its mentoring scheme and the full gamut of wellbeing activities, all designed to develop strong minds and boost happiness.
- Pupils can take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, Lamda performing arts exams, public speaking and debating teams, community service and fundraising. There is a rich extracurricular programme covering the arts, sport and interest groups such as coding, reading and robotics.
- Means-tested bursaries covering up to 100 per cent of fees are available for students entering years 7 and 12. Other scholarships usually have a value of five per cent of fees.
