- Horsforth School was established in 1972 and today believes that “opportunity and achievement [are] for all”; its values-driven curriculum has this at its heart. In 2023, it was rated “Good” by Ofsted.
- Pupils represent the student voice via the school parliament and through six key areas — respect, wellbeing, participation, aspiration, resilience and responsibility. The former allows young people to influence school life, and to learn and understand more about the British political system.
- In addition to studying more traditional A-level subjects, sixth formers can pursue a Mandarin Chinese proficiency assessment, a level 3 diploma in criminology or an Extended Project Qualification.
- In 2025, 38 per cent of A-level grades awarded to pupils were A*-A. In 2022, 2023 and 2024, the school achieved the highest state school A-level results in Leeds.
