- In 2005 Hinchley Wood School was designated as a specialist music college by the Department for Education. Though the coalition government stopped the programme in 2010, the school is still committed to its musical expertise and “has continued to fund and develop new opportunities for students in and outside the classroom.” Pupils can join music tours abroad and perform in public venues and the school has forged a link with the Royal Albert Hall.
- Year 7 pupils complete the school’s “values diploma” which is centred around a number of attributes including confidence, enthusiasm, determination and independence.
- The school provides an Oxbridge programme for those in years 12 and 13 as well as giving information to students about apprenticeships as an alternate route. In 2025, 32 per cent of A-level grades awarded were A*-A and 85 per cent of grades were A*-C; 74 per cent of pupils secured their first choice place at university.
