- Glenthorne High School was founded in 1933 as an all-girls school and became coeducational in 1993. It has more than 1,750 pupils and is led by Dr Sarah Peacock.
- Pupils are supported by volunteer pastors who visit the school weekly to deliver group workshops and one-to-one listening support sessions.
- The school works with an emotional wellbeing practitioner, and a full-time school counsellor is also on hand.
- Pupils can choose from 26 A-level subjects and four BTec national diploma qualifications for sixth form study, and can also take part in the Extended Project Qualification. In 2025, 30 per cent of all A-levels taken by pupils achieved A*-A, with 63 per cent achieving A*-B. Pupils accepted offers at Russell Group universities.
